After being honorably discharged, Ted attended the San Francisco College
of Mortuary Science where he graduated number one in his class. He then attended the
California College of Podiatric Medicine where he was class president of the
sophomore and senior classes, and then the Lindell Hospital two year surgical
residency under Dr. Alan Jacobs and Dr. Larry Oloff. Later, after a hand
injury ended his career in podiatry, Ted attended the University of Puget
Sound School of Law.
After completing law school and successfully passing the bar, Ted was
employed as the executive director and managed both the Washington
State Podiatric Medical Association and APMA International Region VII for
approximately 10 years.
Some of his affiliations include membership in Kiwanis, the American Society
of Podiatric Executives, both of which he served as president, board member of the
United Way of Kitsap County, member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and
Washington State Podiatric Medical Association, and an associate in both
the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and American College of Foot
Surgery from 1985 to 1992. He was published in The Journal of Foot
Surgery in 1986.
Ted was featured in Podiatry Today as the cover story and Podiatric
Management as one of the 150 most influential Podiatrists in America, and
was chosen as the Washington State Podiatric Medical Association Podiatric
Physician of the Year from 1994 to 1995 and given a Distinguished Service Award
in 2002.
Ted served seven years in the U.S. Navy as an Ocean Systems Technician.
He was stationed in such places as Oregon, Alaska, Florida, Barbados, and
Puerto Rico.
